Bharat Forge has come a long way in developing indigenous weapon sytems for the army especially artillery. Hope MoD and IA give them orders soon enough. Similarly SSS defence too needs to be awarded contracts for small arms. This is long due.

Army wants AKs.

A lot of talk about Atmanirbharta and emergence of private defence manufacturing. Not a lot of orders, Armed Forces still looking abroad for practically everything.
Question is why?
Poor designs? Poor performance? Manufacturing issues? Not cost-effective? Trust deficeit? Lack of long term planning? Lack of budgetary allocation? Corruption?
